WE USED TO SPEAR EELS @ NIGHT @ PEARL HARBOR WHEN I LIVED IN HAWAII: "Hawaii Surfer Bitten ... in Eel Attack?" | Newser Mobile
@ hickam air force base, one of our chaminade dorm mates (ed perez) uncle lived there, his wife served in the military & they would invite us out there for a night, and we'd take lanterns & spears at night & wade in the shallow waters of pearl harbor & the lights attracted the spears & we could easily spear them. We never feared being bit,not sure why.then we would sleep all night in hammocks tied between trees. Great time.
